Aggregation Switches - LE-3300 (CN 5305)

Ciena’s CN 5305 modular service aggregation switches are purpose built for Carrier Ethernet networks to support metro edge applications. Based on Ciena’s tried and tested Carrier Ethernet technologies, these switches deliver highly scalable, resilient, reliable and cost-effective Ethernet services.

Enabling both high-density Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) connectivity to the subscriber edge and high-performance 10GbE uplinks to the service provider core; the CN 5305 utilises software based on a common service-aware operating system which provides consistent system and service attributes and operational efficiency.

The CN 5305 delivers multifaceted QoS (Quality of Service) functionality and top-quality VLAN/virtual switching functions, along with robust management and performance monitoring features. These functions are needed to support carrier grade L2 VPNs, mission-critical data, high-speed Internet, superior VoIP and IPTV services.

The CN 5305 incorporates Ethernet control plane protocols and Carrier Ethernet OAM (operations, administration, and maintenance) mechanisms. The CN 5305 uses high-performance programmable processors to deliver new features and functionality via simplified software upgrades.
